POSSIBILITIES REIGN OVER ME INTELLECTUALLY, SPIRITUALLY, EDUCATIONALLY

The Promise Academy of Virginia provides overall developmental teaching and mentoring for young ladies ages 12 – 18. We unlock the mind, protect the body and uplift the soul.

The Promise Academy of Virginia is dedicated to training young girls 12 - 18 years and older on how to wisely and effectively “think” their way through situations instead of trying to “react” their way out of them particularly, pre-marital sex. Laymetha Reed Guy, well known for her gospel music is the founder of The Promise Academy of Virginia and in 2013 completed her first self help book entitled “Preserving the Gift”-The 3D Project-Developing Dazzling Diamonds.

Laymetha states, "As a musician and director for youth choirs for the past 30 years, I have seen nine (9) teen pregnancies in the last eleven (11) years throughout the local churches and communities and hope that this book will provide a greater perspective for young ladies to become more responsible, informed, and smart about their choices. My desire is to change the generational thought-process around being ladies, leaders, legends and role models throughout the world, starting with the church community".

The first Promise Academy of Virginia took place on June 22, 2013. Teen singing sensation and Stellar Award nominated Nyasia performed as well as praise dancers from the Richmond Tri-city area. The event was held at the TW Morris Engagement Hall at 16042 NORTHUMBERLAND HWY, REEDVILLE, VA. 22539.

 Requirements: 

•Eligible participants must be 12-18 years old (plus or minus 3 months and includes college age students)

•Currently enrolled in an accredited high school or college.

•Live in Middle Peninsula, Tidewater, Northern Neck, Mattaponi or Richmond Tri-city areas of Virginia

Participants may receive:

•Platform of Acknowledgement at Promise Academy Events

•Exposure as a Scholar, Leader and Achiever

•Preparation for Career Advancement

•Yearly membership until completion of studies.

Academy Event Registration Fee for ages 12 - 18:  $25.00
